Fox Business reporter Hillary Vaughn was dumbstruck by the stunningly insensitive reason leftist Rep. Summer Lee (D-PA) gave when asked about the murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray by two illegal immigrants in Texas.

Vaughn approached Lee on Wednesday outside her congressional office for comment on the alleged rape and murder of the child by two illegal Venezuelan men which has caused a renewed demand for tougher border policies.

“I don’t know who she is. I live in Pittsburgh,” Lee flatly said when asked about Nungaray’s murder by strangulation in Houston last week.

“I live in Pittsburgh. I don’t know anything about it,” she claimed just before sliding into her Capitol Hill office.

Vaughn was not deterred and waited outside of Lee’s office until the 36-year-old congresswoman emerged. The reporter asked her if it was “time to end the Biden administration’s policy of paroling migrants apprehended crossing the border illegally – a policy which has allowed federal authorities to mass release migrants into the US as they await immigration court proceedings,” according to the New York Post.

“I have to look it up,” Lee answered telling the reporter she could meet with her later.

Lee is not alone in evading answering whether President Biden bears any responsibility for the girl’s murder. A number of Democrats who are not from Texas have called the murder horrific but then veer away from linking it to Biden’s border policies.

Republican candidate for the Pennsylvania Senate, Dave McCormick, hammered Lee over her cold response.

“This is disgusting,” his campaign wrote on X.

“Her name is Jocelyn Nungaray,” McCormick wrote on the social media platform. “Bob Casey should be absolutely ashamed for continuing to support Summer Lee.”

Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) is running against McCormick in November. Lee has been endorsed by Casey.

“Authorities say Nungaray was assaulted for two hours before she was strangled to death under a Houston bridge on June 16 by suspects Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, and Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21,” the New York Post reported.

“Ramos crossed the southern border illegally in May, sources told The Post. Meanwhile, Martinez entered the country in March and was given an ankle monitor, but it was removed in May after it was determined he had no known criminal history. Both men have been charged with capital murder,” the media outlet continued.

If charged with sex crimes, prosecutors will reportedly be able to seek the death penalty.

“In court on Monday, Judge Josh Hill set Ramos’ bond at $10 million – double what prosecutors recommended and 10 times the amount sought by the defense,” the Daily Mail reported.

Nungaray’s family has laid the blame for the child’s death on the Biden administration’s immigration policies. They are angrily demanding a “safer country.”

“We have to stop burying our kids, this is not right,” Nungaray’s mother Alexis told Fox News’ host Sean Hannity in an interview on Tuesday night. “We have to have more enforcement when it comes to letting people in, this is not OK, it’s not OK.”

Republicans are doubling down on Biden’s open border policies and how they are causing Americans to suffer and die.

“Joe Biden’s open border policies continue to devastate American communities,” Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) commented in a statement. “This needless human tragedy is the most recent loss from this humanitarian crisis devastating American communities and families.”
