Joe Biden’s real-time odds of winning the election are rapidly declining in real time as the first 2024 presidential debate continues.

Biden entered the debate trailing Trump by a -112 to +180 margin. Forty minutes later, Biden plummeted to +360.

Here is the latest look at the market, according to OddsChecker:

The odds reflect Biden’s start to the debate, in which he repeatedly stumbled over his words, lost his train of thought, and appeared frozen and confused.

He also claimed, as if we live in Westeros, that brothers and sisters are raping our women.

Seriously:

How is this not a parody?

Nonetheless, it will be challenging for Democrats to replace Biden as their candidate. In addition to having to admit the man they’ve rallied around is likely demented, the bench is limited.

We explained earlier this week:

Michelle Obama doesn’t want to be president. She doesn’t like America. Kamala Harris is wildly unpopular and would have no chance in a general election against Trump.

And passing over Harris for Gavin Newsom, a possible candidate in 2028, would shatter the party’s entire diversity, equity, and inclusion mantra.

Then again, Biden might force the Democrats to settle for an unpopular narrative.

I mean, listen to him:
