Some of the “former” intelligence officials who decried Hunter Biden’s laptop as “disinformation” in 2020 were still active CIA contractors at the time, according to a new report from the House Judiciary Committee.

Among them was former Obama-era CIA director Michael Morell, the guy who later admitted to Congress that he’d organized the “disinformation” letter to give then-Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden a “talking point” to use in the 2020 presidential election.

Also among them was former CIA Inspector General David Buckley and at least two other letter-signers.

In a statement to the New York Post, Morell later denied the veracity of the Judiciary Committee’s report, writing, “If you write that, you would [be] wrong.” In a second email, he added that he “can’t” speculate on why he was listed as active in the CIA.

The committee was not pleased by his denial.

“The evidence in our report speaks for itself and it seems that the spy who lied is continuing to do so,” committee spokesperson Russell Dye told the Post.

The evidence includes complaints from other active CIA officials about the “disinformation” letter.

“This frustrates me. I don’t think it is helpful to the Agency in the long run,” an unnamed CIA official wrote on Oct. 20th, 2020, a day after Politico published the “disinformation” letter.

“I also love that at least a few of the random signatures belong to individuals currently working here on contracts…,” another unnamed CIA official reportedly wrote.

Responding to these findings, Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan said in a statement that this proves the “disinformation” letter that led to reports on Hunter Biden’s laptop being censored was 100 percent a political effort engineered to protect then-nominee Biden.

“We knew that the rushed statement from the 51 former intelligence officials was a political maneuver between the Biden campaign and the intelligence community,” Jordan said.

“Now with this interim report, we reveal how officials at the highest levels of the CIA were aware of the statement and CIA employees knew that several of the so-called former officials were on active contract with the CIA. The report underscores the risks posed by a weaponized federal government,” the statement continues.

“The House Intelligence Committee’s work provided us with solid direct evidence that in the final weeks before the 2020 presidential election, 51 former intelligence officials coordinated with the Biden campaign to falsely cast doubt on an explosive New York Post story and label Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop as ‘Russian disinformation,’” a separate statement from House Intelligence Committee Chair Mike Turner reads.

With this information in hand, Republicans are now seeking punishment of some type for the intelligence officials who signed the “disinformation” letter.

“I think one their clearances need to be revoked,” Rep. Kat Cammack told the Daily Mail in an interview. “I think there needs to be an investigation into every single one of them.”

“We know that the intel community never operates in absolutes and the fact that we had 51 come forward and try to put forward a narrative that this was disinformation, misinformation when everyone knew full well that it wasn’t, that it was very real,” she added.

Like Jordan, she also referenced the weaponization of government.

“That speaks volumes about the politicization and the weaponization of the DOJ and the IC (intelligence community),” she said. “There has to be repercussions. Otherwise, the verified credibility of the IC is on the line if there is not a single thing that is done to those Intel officers.”

True.

Rep. Greg Steube, another Republican, agreed with Cammack, telling the Daily Mail that EVERYBODY who signed the letter should face consequences, even if they weren’t actively in the CIA at the time.

“One-hundred percent, absolutely, there should be repercussions for that,” he said. “That’s what the American people are frustrated and tired about, is they see all of these people doing all these horrible things, using the deep state to go after Trump and Russia-gate and Russia collusion.”

“It was all a lie. And none of these people have been held accountable. So if any of them are still working in government, they should all lose their jobs and then be sued if there’s some type of cause that you can go after them for. The thing about it is, is a lot of these people do what they do because they know that nothing’s going to happen to them,” he added.

Steube wasn’t wrong.
