Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stood alongside Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) at a Jerusalem news conference on Wednesday and thanked the American politician for his strong support of the Jewish State.

“We’ve been through dark times in these months of anguish war. During that time, I can say that Israel has had no better friend than Senator John Fetterman,” Netanyahu said.

“I want to thank you for your courageous statements that show moral clarity and moral courage, and you just say it the way it is,” the prime minister added. “We appreciate this friendship at all times, but especially at these times. So welcome, friend.”

Fetterman, wearing his trademark hoodie, spoke briefly during his first-ever trip to Israel, expressing his sorrow for the country’s suffering.

“We stand with Israel through this,” the Democrat said. “I’m so sorry for what’s been done to this nation, but I’m just honored to be here today.”

Netanyahu, who is set to address a joint session of Congress on July 24, told Fetterman afterward, “I look forward to visiting you in Washington.”

While social media users appeared to appreciate Fetterman’s solid support for Israel, the hoodie he was wearing was just not cutting it.
