Reality-denying Democrats are reportedly “feeling exasperated” by the negative reports about President Joe Biden and that they have an alternate plan to replace him as the party’s 2024 presidential nominee.

Concerns over the feeble 81-year-old president have persisted despite Democrats repeatedly trying to gaslight Americans who see with their own eyes the physical and mental decline of the commander-in-chief.

Senate Democrats voiced their frustrations in a new report by The Hill purporting they are trying to “stamp out talk of replacing” Biden on the presidential ticket.

“They’re tired of hearing about the hand-wringing of Democratic voters and donors over Biden’s age and electability and sick of reading about Rube Goldberg-like schemes, some of them pushed by Republicans or conservative media, to shake up the Democratic ticket,” the outlet reported.

One unnamed Democrat senator “feigned putting a make-believe pistol to their temple” when the topic of removing Biden ahead of the November election or even the Democratic National Convention in August had been broached.

The lawmaker told The Hill that the “juicy” looking stories about the president are just an indication that “political pundits have “too much time on their hands.”

“There’s no way in hell that’s true. Not a chance in hell that’s true,” the senator said. “I don’t know what to say.”

“The latest national [poll] has him at 50 [percent]. I think that’s real,” the lawmaker added, contending that Biden has seen a bump in polls following the conviction of his opponent, former President Donald Trump, on 34 felony charges.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) found talk of Biden being removed from the Democrat ticket “bizarre” while Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) declared, “I’ve heard no credible plan B, and I’m not counting on a plan B.”

The Connecticut Democrat views the first presidential debate scheduled for this week “will be a really critical point” in the race to the White House and for Biden’s campaign.

“All of the questions that people are asking right now will have different answers after this debate,” he told The Hill. “At the end of the day, it’s going to be a choice between the two of them. I think Biden is so much sharper, quicker, knowledgeable than even Democrats give him credit for.

“We all have moments when we can’t remember a name, but that’s not what’s important about being president of the United States,” the Senate’s No. 2 Democratic leader added. “I don’t have a plan B; I’m not looking for a plan B.”

While the Democrats on Capitol Hill are putting on a brave face, not everyone is convinced as speculation continues about Biden even being able to make it through to being re-elected.

“If people mention that, if it’s talked about in settings, even if somebody says we need to have an alternative, it’s not really taken as something that seriously could happen,” a Democratic fundraising consultant told The Hill.

“You’re in a conversation with somebody, somebody says, ‘Do we have a backup?’ Something like that. Because, honestly, [Vice President] Harris is not really seen as ready for prime time,” the strategist said, adding that there’s “zero” chance Biden will be replaced.

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore was asked this month by “Fox and Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade if he could see himself as a replacement for Biden. The Democrat quickly swatted down the idea and declared Biden is “the best candidate for the presidency.”

Moore was one of a group of Democrats named in a Business Insider piece this month titled, “7 Democrats who could replace Biden if he drops his 2024 reelection bid.”

And talk of plans to “jettison” Biden continued among pundits and media outlets with Politico warning in February that “Democrats might need a Plan B” and an opinion piece by Douglas MacKinnon for The Hill last month declared, “Democrats can still jettison Biden as an ‘August Surprise.’

Polls showing Trump potentially beating Biden in November have Democrats understandably nervous as Sen. John Hickenlooper (D-CO) admitted.

“Everyone’s seen the polls and I think people are so alarmed that we could elect someone who’s kind of revealed themselves to be a demagogue,” he said, referring to the former president.

“Maybe he’ll only be a dictator for a day … but he’s revealed himself, and I think people are very, very concerned about that,” he said. “People look at those polls, and they’re nervous and anxious, but I don’t think there are any other alternative plans.”
