With just two days to go until one of the most anticipated presidential debates in American history, pundits and politicians are coming out of the woodwork to offer advice.

In an op-ed titled Dear Donald Trump: Here’s how to win this week’s debate, and the election, The New York Post editorial board encourages Trump to think about independent voters and let Biden talk himself into trouble.

From The New York Post:

You spent much of your 2020 campaign shoring up a base that didn’t need convincing. Don’t make the same mistake this time around.

There are millions of Americans who are upset with Biden, but need reassurance that bringing back Trump doesn’t mean four years of chaos and drama.

You know the first debate in 2020 went awry. You were too angry, too hot, and interrupted too much.

Biden can’t form a sentence without making ridiculous claims, messing up names, forgetting where he is. Allow him! “Letting him speak” is to your advantage.

A Trump rally is full of people angry about where the country is today. But most Americans don’t just want someone who shares their anger, they want the promise of a happy future and stability.

They want someone who can deliver a little normalcy. Government that isn’t pushing radical change. An economy that works for them. Optimism.

Meanwhile, over at The New York Times, former Trump opponent Hillary Clinton is touting her experience as the only person to “debate both men.” Clinton says Biden must be “direct and forceful” with the former president.

“I know the excruciating pressure of walking onto that stage and that it is nearly impossible to focus on substance when Mr. Trump is involved,” Clinton said.

During their three debates, Clinton said, Trump “unleashed a blizzard of interruptions, insults, and lies that overwhelmed the moderators and did a disservice to the voters.”

“These ploys will fall flat if President Biden is as direct and forceful as he was when engaging Republican hecklers at the State of the Union address in March,” said Clinton, adding that Biden “has facts and truth on his side” because of the economy and investments in clean energy.

The economy? Really? Recent polling shows most Americans believe the economy is the number one problem in Biden’s America.

We’ll have to wait until Thursday night to see which strategy proves successful.
