Talk about a desperate attempt to control the narrative!

CNN confirmed to podcaster Tim Pool, as well as The Post Millennial that they will not allow commentators to stream CNN’s debate feed for purposes of commentary on the event.

Tim Pool does this sort of thing for political events all the time. Rallies, State of the Union, debates. He’ll have it playing live and his panel will comment on the event live.

Daily Wire, Steven Crowder, and countless others do the same thing. It’s very common in conservative circles where they don’t want the leftwing news media overtly coloring the picture.

With this debate, CNN is threatening to kill the ability to livestream the event with commentary on YouTube and, presumably, on other social sites like X.

This was confirmed by Post Millennial reporter Sara Higdon, who will be attending the debate in Atlanta, and received an email from CNN prior to the debate concerning digital use. It reads:

‘Streaming Use: CNN’s debates are exclusive to CNN and may not be streamed or streamed with verbal or digital commentary on any platform or social media site by another party, other than the embeddable YouTube player via the CNN YouTube channel.’

‘Podcast Use: Similar to broadcast rules, news organizations may use audio clips (up to 3:00 minutes at a time) on their shows after the debate conclude and must credit the ‘CNN Presidential Debate’ verbally in introducing the clip.’

  • First, they take away the studio audience, because we can’t have live crowd reactions to Biden’s stumbling and fumbling.

  • Then CNN banned all other news organizations from attendance. Meaning that the room will be Biden and Trump, the CNN moderators, and the camera crew, and that’s it.

  • The Democrats demanded to allow the fake news media to have complete control over the in-person venue.

  • Now, CNN is fighting to prevent people from commenting at length on the debate live ONLINE!

And this is after Joe Biden disappeared for a WEEK to prepare for the debate!!

Pool had a response for CNN. ‘My response immediately was commentary on Presidential Debates is the epitome of fair use. Hope that helps,’ he told viewers.

‘We have two people running for the president of this country,’ Pool said, ‘one of them the current president, and we’re going to fact-check and we’re going to comment and we are going to call them out in real time. If we can’t do that, if no one else can, then that’s strict, that’s severely limiting civic participation …’

Wherever you want to watch the debate Thursday, if it’s with Tim Pool, Ben Shapiro, Crowder, or whoever, CNN is going to throw up major roadblocks.
