Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky notched their first victory against the Indiana Fever Sunday night and then celebrated the accomplishment as if they’d won the WNBA championship.

The third installment in the fresh rivalry between the two teams saw Indiana blow a 15-point lead and ultimately lose to Chicago, 88-87.

The team’s official X account went straight to social media and used an alternating caps message to mock fans of Caitlin Clark in a blatantly childish post.

“‘bUt wHy dO ThE ChIcAgO SkY HaTe tHe fEvEr? ThEy pLaY ToO HaRd. tHeY TaLk tOo mUcH. ThEy sHoUlD’Ve lEt tHeM WiN fOr ThE sAkE oF—’ transmission ends,” they wrote.

“anyways, back to our original programming: WE DON’T CARE BOUT NONE OF THAT. SKY ON TOP.”

Chicago Sky Finally Win A Game Against The Fever

That account is most assuredly run by a freshman at a local college in Chicago. And it shows. What even is this from the Sky team?

We’re not aware of anybody suggesting the team should have “let them (Indiana) win”, one. Indiana has been doing a fine enough job of that on their own capturing the first two contests this season.

Then there’s “they play too hard.” No, playing hard is great.

What people had a problem with was a blatant blindside hip check from Chennedy Carter in game one and a clothesline from Reese in game two, both resulting in flagrant fouls. And y’all still lost those games despite pretending you were the Detroit Pistons in the early ’90s.

“They talk too much”? Yeah, well, you nailed that one.

Angel Says She’s ‘A Dog’

Notice you didn’t see too many quotes come out of the Fever or Caitlin Clark camp after they beat Chicago twice this season. They just put their heads down and got back to work for the next game.

Now, we absolutely have to give Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky their due here. Mounting a furious comeback from down 15 to win the game is a significant achievement.

And it’s in no small part thanks to Reese’s performance. She poured in 25 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in one of her best games as a rookie in the WNBA.

Following the game, she had some comments about the show she put on.

“I’m a dog,” Reese said following the game. “You can’t teach that.”

Congratulations to the Chicago Sky on their first victory over Indiana to improve to 6-9 on the season. If they’re flying this high after a mid-season game imagine what their response will be if they do something meaningful.
