Dueling concerts included some fun had at Taylor Swift’s expense when Dave Grohl dared the ire of the pop diva’s fanbase.

“I tell you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift…”

A decision was made by the Foo Fighters frontman Saturday night as the band returned to London for the first time since playing a tribute concert at Wembley Stadium in Sept. 2022 after drummer Taylor Hawkins passed away earlier that year.

That decision involved kicking a hornet’s nest while Swift was in the midst of her own three-night stint at the aforementioned venue with an allusion to how the megastar managed to maintain consistency throughout her “Eras Tour.”

“I tell you, man,” Grohl said from the stage at London Stadium in a video shared on X by Consequence, “you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift. So, we like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour’ because I feel like, we’ve had more than a few eras and more than a few f*cking errors as well. Just a couple.”

“That’s because we actually play live. What!?” landed the rocker like a school kid reveling in the gibe.

Of course, while reactions to Grohl’s fun at Swift’s expense were mixed on social media, the singer-songwriter may have been attempting to nip rumor mills in the bud the following night when she reacted to a standing ovation at Wembley by telling the crowd, “What you just did is an unforgettable moment in not just my life, but every one of my band members, every single one of our crew.”

“My band, who’s gonna be playing live for you for three-and-a-half hours tonight,” she specified in the video online, “they deserve this so much. And so does every one of my fellow performers. And you just gave that to us so generously. We will never forget it.”

Debate on whether the musician, whose break into the industry came as a drummer for Scream three years before Taylor Swift was born, was merely vying for a laugh or venting actual frustration at the pop star had some speculating on a degree of retribution.

His own daughter had taken the brunt of Swifties for questioning the diva’s travel arrangements earlier in the year in a since-deleted post that challenged, “why can’t taylor swift just drive like everyone else.”

“Wow I wonder what prompted Dave Grohl to take a little swipe at Taylor Swift?” asked BuzzFeed journalist Stephanie Soteriou who shared an image of Violet Grohl’s post. “I’m sure it’s totally unprovoked & not at all to do with his 17-year-old daughter being relentlessly trolled & sent death threats from Swifties because of this totally innocuous tweet back in January.”

Grohl himself previously recounted a tale where Swift had saved him from embarrassment during a party at Paul McCartney’s house, leading some to believe that there was no bad blood between them. Still, others insisted on taking offense on behalf of their idol and took aim at the rocker.
