Leave it to the climate crazies to ruin a Sunday afternoon on the links. On a more positive note, at least the zealots were sparing an art museum for a change.

Police were sent scurrying into action on the 18th green at TPC River Highlands during the final hole of the Travelers Championship when climate change protesters interrupted the event. A half dozen protesters stormed the course in Cromwell, Connecticut, letting off gas canisters that dumped an orange powdery substance on the green. Some of the activists were wearing t-shirts that read: “No Golf On A Dead Planet.”

The interruption was at a pivotal point of the tournament — more from Fox News:

The protest couldn’t have come at a more crucial time in the tournament as Tom Kim needed a birdie to force a playoff against [Scottie] Scheffler, who parred the 18th hole once play resumed.

Kim forced the playoff, but Scheffler parred the 18th hole again to win it after Kim wasn’t able to match him.

The protesters were handcuffed and led away. It remains to be seen if they will actually be prosecuted for their actions. Until there are serious consequences for their actions, the likelihood of environmental activists continuing to make life miserable for the rest of society remains high. At the same time, it’s a mystery why they believe such actions will bring people around to their so-called cause.

Six protesters were charged with first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree criminal trespass, and breach of peace, according to Cromwell police. They were all released on bond and given a court date of July 1 in Middletown Superior Court.

Citing police, NBC News reported the protesters “hailed from a number of out of state locations including Washington, D.C., White Plains, Maryland, and Brooklyn, New York.”

“I was scared for my life,” golfer Akshat Bhatia said, according to the left-leaning sports network ESPN. “I didn’t even really know what was happening.”

“But thankfully, the cops were there and kept us safe, because that’s, you know, that’s just weird stuff,” he added.

Social media users were as quick to note that these protesters are guaranteed to be Biden voters as they were to call for stronger punitive action for their antics.
