In what was described by a member of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York as “turnstile justice,” charges have been dropped against nearly all the protesters who stormed Columbia University’s campus during heated anti-Israel demonstrations.

“District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office dismissed cases against 31 of 46 people charged with trespassing in the Ivy League school’s Hamilton Hall after a dramatic April 30 NYPD raid rounded up protesters on the Morningside Heights campus,” the New York Post reported.

And while prosecutors reportedly cited a lack of evidence, the dropping of charges is par for the course when it comes to most left-wing protests. It is also the latest example of a two-tiered system of justice in America where those supporting the right cause receive little more than a slap on the wrist — if that. On the other hand, protesting an abortion clinic could result in spending years behind bars.

As seen in the commentary below, the dropped charges come from “the same man who waited 7 years to bring up bogus felony charges for a former president in an election year. They are using the justice system for their own political whims.”

The lack of evidence reportedly included security cameras being covered up, yet the FBI has spent 3-plus years using every technological advantage at their disposal, including using credit card charges to identify people who were at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

“This a green light for chaos, a green light for destroying property,” Michael Nussbaum, a 25-year member of the Jewish Community Relations Council, told the Post.

Even when the “civil disobedience” on the left involves violence and destruction, the people behind these crimes are often above the law.

The violent protest seen last week just outside the White House at Lafayette Park is another example of the double standard at play in America under the Biden administration, with there being ZERO arrests despite a National Park Service ranger and other law enforcement officers being assaulted.

Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) demanded answers for the “disturbing” lack of arrests for the vandalism, destruction, and damage to park infrastructure that took place, sending a letter to Interior Secretary Deb Haaland asking about the role politics plays in that decision.

“I am deeply troubled with last weekend’s incidents near the White House involving pro-terror, anti-Israel agitators,” Barrasso wrote. “Disturbingly, police reported no arrests following protesters’ clear acts of violence and vandalism, leaving many questions unanswered about the adequacy of the response to this incident. I question whether political sympathy with the agitators influenced your department’s response to these acts of violence and vandalism.”
