Four criminal aliens were arrested on gang assault charges after they attacked two New York Police Department (NYPD) officers on Monday.

The two officers were “checking on three unattended children” outside a Wingate by Wyndham hotel that had been converted to a migrant shelter, according to the New York Post.

“In an effort to check on the children’s safety, they approached a nearby group of adults to make sure that the children were being supervised,” Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said in a statement.

But when they asked the group of five about the children, the group attacked.

“At that point, a group of approximately five adults began punching, kicking, and shoving the officers – with two assailants throwing bikes and striking the cops,” Katz added.

Four suspects — Juan Munoz, 25; Alejandro Munoz, 42; Karina Navarro-Chavez, 42; and Miguel Chiluisa, 23 — were subsequently arrested and then arraigned Tuesday on charges of assault, attempted assault, criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration.

Juan Munoz, Alejandro Munoz, and Navarro-Chavez were also charged with child endangerment, while the last criminal alien was charged with second and third-degree escape for making a run for it.

“A fifth suspect, a woman, hit one of the cops with a child’s bike but fled the scene,” the Post notes.

The prosecution reportedly asked that all four criminal aliens be held without bail, but Judge Edward Daniels — appointed by Democrat NYC Mayor Eric Adams — set bail at $50,000 in cash or a $150,000 bond and scheduled another hearing for this Friday.

As for the officers, they were treated at a nearby hospital for minor injuries.

This incident comes amid a flurry of other criminal actions committed by criminal aliens.

For example, this week the NYPD arrested a criminal alien from Ecuador after he raped a 13-year-old girl in broad daylight.

“The sexual assault took place at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday when two schoolmates, a 13-year-old male and a 13-year-old female, were approached by a man in Kissena Park,” according to ABC News.

“The man flashed what police described as a ‘large machete-style knife’ and forced the 13-year-old victims to walk for several minutes into a wooded area. The individual then forcibly removed the cellphones of both victims, tied the boy and girl’s wrists together with a shoelace, and sexually assaulted the female victim before fleeing the location on foot in an unknown direction,” as reported by ABC News.

The suspect, Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, a 25-year-old Ecuadorian migrant who entered the U.S. illegally in June 2021, was eventually picked up by the police.

Meanwhile, in separate but related news, Staten Island officials have blasted NYC officials for their plan to open a migrant shelter in a Staten Island church.

“Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella, alongside Councilwoman Kamillah Hanks and Councilman David Carr, held a last-minute press conference on Monday attacking a proposal to place 15 cots in the Faith United Methodist Church for single adult men,” Fox News reported.

“Out of the blue, in the dark of the night, we were just told last week that ‘guess what, despite all your best efforts, we’re going to open up a migrant shelter,’ which is wrong. We come here united,” Fossella, a Republican, reportedly said.

He wasn’t done.

“Some people in this community wake up every day trying to figure out, ‘How do we make Portland Richmond better? How do we make the North Shore better?’” he said.

“And then along comes the agencies, [which] say, ‘Guess what? Here’s a way we can make it better: We’re gonna dump a migrant shelter right in the middle of your neighborhood.’ How is that any degree of common sense? It’s not. We have to stand and fight back,” he added.

Hanks, a DEMOCRAT, agreed!

“The residents of this district are tired — they’re tired of constantly waking up one day to find that an institution they trusted has made the decision that they feel will have a negative impact on their community and their safety,” she said.

“We deserve a reasonable expectation that communities will be provided with adequate notice and will not intentionally keep us in the dark while decisions are made,” she added.
