A U.S. Secret Service agent was the victim of an armed robbery during President Joe Biden’s trip to California over the weekend, police said.

The 81-year-old Democrat traveled to the Left Coast where he was the guest of honor at a celebrity fundraiser and the well-heeled donors weren’t the only ones shaken down.

According to a statement from the Tustin Police Department, officers responded to a call on Saturday at approximately 9:35 p.m. at the Tustin Fields 1 residential community in Orange County. The agent, who was off duty, fired at the suspects as they fled the scene. It is unknown if anyone was injured.

The suspects were driving a 2004-06 silver Infiniti FX35 which was seen leaving the scene. Police said that there is no known threat to the public and are searching for the robbery suspects.

Police were able to find some of the Secret Service agent’s belongings in the area.

The incident is the latest to make headlines in Governor Gavin Newsom’s California, a state where Democrats have enabled criminals with their lax laws that sparked an explosion in violent crime since the death of George Floyd four years ago. That incident ignited national race riots and gave left-wing politicians an excuse to handcuff the police.

The Secret Service confirmed the incident involving one of its agents.

“A member of the U.S. Secret Service was the victim of an armed robbery in Tustin, California late Saturday when returning from a work assignment. The employee discharged their service weapon during the incident but unknown if the assailants were struck. We are thankful that the employee did not sustain any injuries,” Secret Service Director of Communications Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement.

Biden was in California to stuff his campaign coffers with cash, appearing at an event headlined by A-list celebs George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Jimmy Kimmel and perhaps the biggest star of all, former President Barack Obama.

The president, who is trailing Donald J. Trump in many polls, banked around $30 million for his campaign during the event at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles that has gotten attention on social media for Biden’s senior moment when he “froze” and had to be rescued by Obama.
