Earlier this week, Elon Musk responded to Apple’s embrace of OpenAI software by calling it “creepy spyware”.

A few days later, OpenAI’s CTO, Mira Murati, responded with a smile, saying that OpenAI cares “deeply” about the privacy of its users.

But you know who definitely doesn’t care about your privacy? The National Security Agency (NSA).

And guess who OpenAI just appointed to their Board of Directors? Retired U.S. Army General Paul Nakasone…former director of the NSA and U.S. Cyber Command.

Nothing to worry about, folks!

Look, artificial intelligence is incredible technology that is going to continue to revolutionize our modern world. Also, with the help of tools like OpenAI, writers at Saturday Night Live have a hope of sparking a light chuckle again.

But if you’re trying to convince me that the world of AI is going to respect my privacy, maybe hiring the former head of one of the world’s largest data-mining *cough cough spying* agencies isn’t the way to go?
