NYPD officers arrested a man who had a small arsenal and is reported to have shared troubling extreme jihadist views, possibly preventing a terrorist attack.

The suspect, 27-year-old Judd Sanson of Queens, was taken into custody on Wednesday after his “ghost car” was pulled over for a traffic stop with police finding a 9mm Glock with nine loaded magazines, two axes, and multiple other stabbing weapons as well as a Guy Fawkes mask, all suggesting that he was planning something “very bad.”

Also included in the weapons cache were a blowtorch, handcuffs, an NYPD vest, an orange MTA vest, and an expandable baton that had “troubling” messages written on it.

“You left me no choice, I am sorry, You gon [sic] learn today” was on the baton as well as an Arabic word for, “God forgive me,” sources said, according to the New York Post.

“Members of this department make gun arrests, weapons arrests, arrests for knives every day, but an arrest of this magnitude, the amount of ammunition, NYPD paraphernalia in the car was significant,” NYPD Chief Jeffrey Maddrey told reporters at a press briefing.

“Given what was in there, something very bad was potentially averted,” one officer told the New York Post. “The intent is still under investigation. The sum of the parts had the potential for something awful.”

Sanson was stopped at around 1:30 a.m. when police noticed that his black Ford Explorer had a blacked-out license plate. Upon searching the vehicle they discovered the weaponry and other paraphernalia including the white mask of the controversial British figure who tried to blow up the parliament in 1605 that was depicted in the dystopian 2005 film “V for Vendetta.”

“When someone is driving around with 11 different weapons, all of this ammunition, language on the baton that sounds threatening, transit uniforms that can be used almost anywhere in our subway system or in our transit system, we have reason to be concerned,” said Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz after Sanson’s court hearing on Thursday, adding that investigators would be looking at his social media activity to get an idea about his motives.

The danger of a domestic attack from radical Islamists has dramatically risen since Israel’s military response to the Hamas terror organization which massacred over 1,200 of its citizens in civilian areas on October 7, 2023, many in barbaric style.

With the explosion in anti-Israel, anti-American, and antisemitic sentiment fostered by a sizable chunk of the Democratic Party’s base, it may be only a matter of time before a domestic terror attack.

Earlier this year, FBI Director Christopher Wray sounded the alarm about the potential for a devastating domestic attack.

“As I look back over my career in law enforcement, I would be hard-pressed to think of a time where so many threats to public safety and national security were so elevated all at once, but that is the case as I sit here today,” Wray told House lawmakers during testimony.

The NYPD stopped what, by all appearances, had the potential to be one, but with Joe Biden’s open borders, there are likely many members of terror cells who have been allowed to flow freely into the country with New York City being one of their prime destinations.
