Los Angeles Democrats are taking a bunch of homeless people and putting them in a luxury, high-rise apartment complex with a gym, cafe, library, and more because they believe that is a good way to spend taxpayer funds.

In case you are new here, Los Angeles has the highest homeless population in the country, with at least 650,000 people. That doesn’t include the homeless people in other parts of the county, Southern California region, or state, just the City of Angels. It is also one of the most expensive cities in the country and probably the world.

Only progressives can take one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world and give you things that not even third-world countries are exposed to.

Progressives are also objectively naive people, they don’t understand that it’s their policies that have resulted in such a high cost of living. They often will point the finger at greedy corporations or Scrooge McDuck-like landlords when it can all be traced back to the local government. And when you combine that with the fact that they condone criminality and the fact that they like to pretend being strung out on heroin is freedom, you get the zombie apocalypse of homeless people on the street.

Again, because the people making the rules are so objectively stupid, they like to pretend that the reason there is a high homeless population is because of the high cost of living. It also doesn’t help that they essentially pay for them to live like that. Nonetheless, the enabling of crack life continues and city officials will essentially reward crackheads by putting them in luxury apartments while hard-working Americans barely make ends meet.

Skid Row, which is one of Los Angeles’ most famous neighborhoods, known for its high population of homeless crackheads going bonkers, will be home to this complex.

According to the New York Post:

The 19-story tower — whose 228 studios and 50 one-bedroom apartments cost about $600,000 a pop to build — is located in the heart of the city’s Skid Row and part of a three-building project to provide shelter and support for homeless adults, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The $165 million complex boasts amenities galore, including the gym complete with treadmills, rowers, bikes and a cable machine — as well as a communal patio area for residents to congregate, an art room, a soundproof music room, a computer room, a library and the cafe.

The project is being funded by financing from Proposition HHH, a supportive-housing program approved by city voters in 2016, according to the Los Angeles Housing Department.

This is the text from the city ordinance that voters supposedly approved:

To provide safe, clean affordable housing for the homeless and for those in danger of becoming homeless, such as battered women and their children, veterans, seniors, foster youth, and the disabled; and provide facilities to increase access to mental health care, drug and alcohol treatment, and other services; shall the City of Los Angeles issue $1,200,000,000 in general obligation bonds, with citizen oversight and annual financial audits?

Indeed, stupid politicians would not be in power without ignorant voters, that’s just a fact. So it’s unclear how much more the city will have to spend to increase the homeless population for voters to realize that the “housing first” approach won’t solve anything. That’s because the problem has nothing to do with a lack of housing, and everything to do with the fact that these people are seriously addicted to drugs, mentally ill, or both.

So while officials come up with asinine projects where they waste/funnel an absurd amount of money, the voters enable that behavior.

And while hard-working Americans struggle living paycheck to paycheck, crackheads get free everything simply because they are addicted to crack. Some say this will increase the crack-addicted population but uncertain if that’s true.

Yep, those are the people officials believe need a house to fix all their problems.

And progressives pretend this makes them the compassionate ones. But it doesn’t. It’s not compassionate to let people live in their addictions like that and rather than housing them to do more crack, they should be forced into treatment. Because even though these people may or may not be a bunch of degenerates, they still have intrinsic value because they are human. The cruelest thing officials and voters can do is enable their addiction instead of forcing a tough-love approach and actually getting them the help they need.

Anyway, how long do you give it before the world’s tallest crack tower closes down? I am guessing three weeks but the insanity could go on for at least three months.
