Today’s show takes a look at the list of history’s 16 biggest dictators to determine who is the biggest dic of all time.

“I promise you no matter what we go through today that Hitler is still the worst dictator no matter what,” Crowder said.

Everyone knows Hitler’s bad. However, not everyone knows about the other bad state leaders, including Joseph Stalin, the Former Premier of the Soviet Union. But because Hitler is so widely known and he is very, very bad, he won’t be included in this dic-off because everyone already knows he is still the worst dictator of all time. However, Hitler will be the “yardstick” and other dictators will be measured by a Hitler rating system.

The competition included the following dictators: Ayatollah Khomeini, Mao Zedong, Idi Amin, Joseph Stalin, Benito Mussolini, Augusto Pinochet, Saddam Hussein, Nicolae Ceausescu, and Pol Pot. Mobutu Sese Seko, Fidel Castro, Kim Jong Il, Hugo Chavez, Kim Jong Un, Ferdinand Marcos, and Papa Doc Duvalier.

Zedong Mao’s policies led to the death of 40 to 80 million victims. Comparatively, Hitler was responsible for about 12 million, although estimates vary by source. Amin’s body count is around 80,000 to 300,000. He was also responsible for the Uganda–Tanzania War. Stalin was responsible for at least 7 million deaths. Pinochet was responsible for the executions of 1,200 to 3,200 people, and the imprisonment of up to 80,000 people. Mussolini was responsible for about 1 million deaths. Hussein killed about 250,000 people. Ceausescu killed about 60,000. Pot was responsible for 1.5 to 2 million people during the Khmer Rouge rule. And lastly, at least 5,600 Cubans died due to firing squads under Castro.

The following dictators made the final eight: Khomeini, Zedong, Stalin, Hussein, Pot, Castro, Duvalier, and Kim Jong Il.

One thing a lot of these dictators have in common is their lie that they were doing all this for the “greater good.”

“The greater good is not to protect your nation, the greater good is simply to create a utopia, no matter how many people die,” Crowder said.

Tune in tomorrow to the semifinals, where the final four will be announced.
