Former President Donald Trump has broken his silence on the prospect of his being sent to jail by Judge Juan Merchan, who is handling his sentencing.

Speaking to Fox News, the former president said that if he received a prison sentence, he believes it would be a “breaking point” for his supporters.

“The legal maze that you’re still facing, and they could, a judge could decide to say, hey, house arrest or even jail. It could be faced,” Fox News host Pete Hegseth said to the former president.

“I saw one of my lawyers the other day on television saying, oh, no, you don’t want to do that to the press. I said don’t, you don’t beg for anything,” he said.

“That could happen,” the former president said of the prospect of him being sent to jail.

“I don’t know that the public would stand it, you know, I don’t. I’m not sure the public would stand for it. I think I think it would be tough for the public to take, you know, at a certain point, there’s a breaking point,” he predicted.

He also spoke about the trial and what he thought of how it was handled.

“It’s weaponization, and it’s a very dangerous thing. We’ve never had that in this country,” the former president said.

“People get it. It’s a scam,” he said. “And the Republican Party… they’ve stuck together in this. They see it’s a weaponization of the Justice Department of the FBI and that’s all coming out of Washington.”

He also spoke about how the trial affected his family, including his wife, former first lady Melania Trump.

“She’s fine, but I think it’s very hard for her,” he said. “She has to read all this crap.”

“I think it’s probably in many ways, it’s tougher on my family than it is on me,” he said.

The adult movie star he was convicted of falsifying business records for after paying for a non-disclosure agreement, Stormy Daniels, spoke to the British news site The Mirror this weekend, where she said he should be behind bars.

“I think he should be sentenced to jail and some community service working for the less fortunate or being the volunteer punching bag at a women’s shelter,” she said.

“Being in court was so intimidating with the jurors looking at you,” she added.

“It’s not over for me. It’s never going to be over for me. Trump may be guilty, but I still have to live with the legacy,” said Daniels.

The former president being sentenced to time behind bars could be a real sentence, and the Secret Service is preparing for it.

The U.S. Secret Service reportedly held meetings with New York jail authorities in preparation for a potential conviction in the hush-money case involving former President Donald Trump.

As the Manhattan trial neared its conclusion with the jury’s deliberations and closing statements, a reliable source informed CBS News that similar arrangements were being made.

According to the story, the New York Times reported that if Trump is imprisoned for any length of time, prison officers will be in charge of defending any Secret Service members assigned to protect him.

In reaction to the report, Trump’s supporters vented their fury, denouncing Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case and highlighting the fact that Trump is the presumptive GOP nominee for president.

Political analyst Robby Starbuck stated on X that “today the government is trying to throw the leading candidate for president in prison on bogus charges in a city stacked with far left jurors.”

“DC Draino,” also known as social media personality Rogan O’Handley, declared, “If Biden puts Trump in jail, Trump will win in a landslide we haven’t [seen] since Reagan.”
