Driver dies after car rammed gate at White House

Late last night a driver died after ramming their vehicle into a White House gate at a high rate of speed, according to the Secret Service.

Agents attempted to render aid to the driver but found they were already deceased.

Here’s the statement from Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi:

Limited traffic closures remain in effect as Secret Service teams, @dcfireems & @DCPoliceDept investigate a fatal vehicle crash that occurred at an exterior perimeter gate by the White House. There is no threat or public safety implications and our preliminary statement is below pic.twitter.com/zGTVDuZV5E

There is no video showing the actual crash but I did find the still photo above in a video about the crash.

Obviously we don’t know what caused the crash, but I assume it was malevolent intent or that alcohol was involved.
