Time Magazine choosing President-elect Donald Trump as its “Person of the Year” and his being asked to ring the bell at the New York Stock Exchange was quite the triumphal moment for Trump after all that had been thrown at him over the years. You could tell he was reveling in it as he was cheered by the people on the floor of the NYSE chanting, “USA! USA!” It was a foreshadowing of a new, more positive time for change in the country.

It also caused a huge meltdown from some on the left. I outlined some of that on Thursday, with former CNN host Don Lemon chastising Time and demanding to know why they did it. The left’s frustration was quite delicious. They couldn’t do much in response except toss fits and yell at Time.

One common response was to try to pull out the “Hitler gambit.” It didn’t work for them during the campaign. No one who has a brain cell thinks Trump is Adolf Hitler. Seventy-seven million Americans just rejected that dumb comparison in a resounding way in the election. And it’s diminishing the true evil that Hitler was. But that hasn’t stopped the left from continuing the stupidity.

How does someone who made such an idiotic comparison ever get into such a position of power in our government? And he was a four-star general, too. Does this guy still have a security clearance? Because if someone is this messed up, that raises big issues. He was also one of the signatories to the infamous “51 former intel officials” letter about the Hunter Biden laptop.

It really is another confirmation of why we need Trump’s strong nominees who will straighten out their various departments, particularly when it comes to the Pentagon and the intelligence communities.

Many weighed in on how ridiculous this was, including Townhall’s Kurt Schlichter. 

Vice President-elect JD Vance had the perfect response to finish off such blithering idiocy. He minces no words. 

Barack Obama was also Time’s person of the year.  So was Bill Clinton. One of President Trump’s great contributions to American society is revealing that many of our respected career bureaucrats are, in fact, fools.

So unless Hayden is willing to admit that Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Taylor Swift, and a host of other Democrats are Hitler, too, he may just want to stop digging that hole. It’s just nonsensical. Heck, Time even picked “You” as the Person of the Year in 2006 for all the people who posted on social media, so that sounds like it might even include Hayden.

If ever there was an “open mouth, insert foot” moment, this would be it.
