A breathless and teary-eyed Joy Reid had quite the take in furthering support of division around the holidays over the victory of President-elect Donald Trump and his “cabinet of horrors.”

Over at MSNBC, it appeared that the host of “The ReidOut” wasn’t just a prime purveyor of fearmongering, she was also one of their largest consumers. Or so it seemed Friday when she released a video on social media tacking on to why she believed those opposed to the GOP leader’s re-election were “rightfully alarmed.”

Compounding the rhetoric she’d been serving in the lead-up to Election Day, since Trump’s win Reid had continued a play-by-play of doomsaying over each nomination the president-elect made toward staffing his second administration as she asserted, “He’s put together a cabinet of horrors! People are afraid; they’re not just mad because they lost an election.”

“People are scared,” insisted the talking head who asserted in a self-filmed video, “People are rightfully alarmed; they have a reason to be alarmed. And if you would vote for [Trump], people may not feel so confident that they’re safe with you.”

“This is not crazy. This is legitimate feelings of fear of you and a feeling that you might not be someone they can trust if this thing goes way south,” Reid went on, maintaining her stance that Trump was akin to Adolf Hitler, Francisco Franco, Benito Mussolini and Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Democracies go south real fast. And things get ugly and people get asked to do things, and turn people in, and point people out and turn on them.”

Following the election, the host had welcomed Yale psychologist Dr. Amanda Calhoun onto her program to support the idea that leftist family members turn away those who’d otherwise be welcomed into their homes at the holidays because of their support for the president-elect.

Fearmongering over the Project 2025 boogeyman that she had perpetuated throughout the campaign, Reid had made unfounded claims about Trump supporting a national abortion ban and argued that women would be dying because of such policies.

“And if you’re voting affirmatively, gleefully, people might — I don’t know, may not feel so confident in you anymore. That’s real and you kinda have to live with it,” she argued instead of recognizing that even President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris had dropped the act about comparing Trump to Hitler after the Democratic Party’s resounding loss.

“So if you think that you can vote for what people see as their destruction and then demand that they still are cool with you…and they have Thanksgiving with you — like, I think you’re kinda missing the point of what people are upset about,” tried Reid. “They’re afraid and autocracy and fascism are things that are legitimate to be afraid of. So, you may want to step back.”

The unhinged take prompted an array of responses, including reminders about authoritarian decisions made under Democratic politicians regarding draconian COVID mandates.
