There are a lot of things that contributed to the win of President-elect Donald Trump.

But one thing that helped was the ability to have freer discussion on X in 2024 than there was on Twitter in 2020 because Elon Musk bought the platform. He wanted to help preserve free speech for what has become the social media “town square” for news and discussion.

Then, in the past couple of weeks came the news that MSNBC took a dive in ratings after the election and that Comcast was going to spin it and other networks off into a separate entity called “SpinCo.” That, in turn, raised speculation about the sale and laying off people at MSNBC. Rachel Maddow did reportedly get her salary cut by $5 million. Meanwhile, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski went to speak to President-elect Donald Trump, and that seems to have led to many in their radical leftist audience turning on them and leaving. That’s funny because they got gored on the horn of their own propaganda to their audience. They sold Trump as akin to “Hitler,” and now their audience isn’t forgiving them for their actions.

So, Donald Trump Jr. had a suggestion for Elon Musk.

Musk asked how much it cost, much the same way as he had asked about Twitter.

Now, while there isn’t the importance of buying Twitter to protect free speech in the case of MSNBC — no one would truly miss MSNBC if it completely sank into the dust — it would be very funny if he came in and reshaped the whole network into something useful. It could eliminate a lot of harmful propaganda. Imagine the meltdowns Joy Reid and “Morning Joe” would have to find out that Musk was suddenly their boss.

Trump Jr. told him it couldn’t cost that much, given the bad ratings.

Musk laughed and teased the possibility, “The most entertaining outcome, especially if ironic, is most likely.”

That sounds very promising. He was inundated on X with people telling him to “Do it!”

People had amusing thoughts on the positive change this could bring. If he fired Maddow, he would immediately save $25 million.

Russell Brand put in a request for the “Morning Joe” host slot.

He could turn it into an actual news outlet with real facts on it; how remarkable would that be?

Whether he buys it or not, you know just this discussion is going to have them melting down about the possibilities on the left.
