Of all the important issues President-elect Donald Trump is set to tackle during his second term, it could be argued that government waste is one of the most critical.

To this end, billionaire X owner Elon Musk has teamed up with Vivek Ramaswamy to create the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to expedite the process of cleaning up the waste and red tape bogging down our federal processes. This is a mission that millions of Americans have been waiting years to finally see and they are volunteering in droves to help out. Fox News anchors reacted to hearing just how far some are willing to go to help their country.
On Friday’s episode of ‘America’s Newsroom,’ Dana Perino, Bill Hemmer, and panelist Todd Piro marveled at Americans jumping at the chance to work 80 hours a week, unpaid, to trim the fat of our current government.
“What’s different is, you had, just a few years ago, you had engineers from Google’s DeepMind saying, I won’t work… on this project for the Pentagon because they didn’t believe America was a good country. This is, all of a sudden, a very different thing,” Perino pointed out.
“Well, it’s definitely a Trump sea change, for sure. But, I think it also underscores the magnitude of this moment, because I think most Americans see we have an opportunity for transformative change and much like our country transformed following World War II, maybe they didn’t necessarily know it at the time when it was about to go on but people view this as their opportunity to do real government service,” Piro responded. “And, yes, you’re gonna work incredibly hard, but you know what? My grandfather who had a four-year vacation in Europe, he worked pretty hard while he was there, and didn’t get paid a lot for it either. But this is a great opportunity to help our nation.”
Then Hemmer read an astounding quote from a 26-year-old “electrical infrastructure manufacturing company employee” who is ready to do whatever it takes to help out DOGE.
“He says, ‘I’m fervently prepared to invest countless days and sleepless nights to realize this vision. I believe America can achieve its full potential with DOGE leading the charge. To rub shoulders with the people inside their orbit is absolutely priceless.’ I wonder how many people are thinking that way!”
Tyrus also pointed out that if the DOGE office is not working as hard as it needs to in order to produce tangible results, Trump is willing to fire whoever needs to go to make it work.
Steve Doocy interviewed a retired CPA who is also willing to assist DOGE’s efforts on ‘Fox & Friends’ Friday morning:
