Former First Lady Melania Trump recounted the heart-stopping moments she endured after a gunman tried to assassinate her husband, former President Donald Trump.

In her first television interview in more than two years, Mrs. Trump spoke about her personal experience in an appearance on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends” where she was promoting her upcoming memoir. In a preview clip of the interview with “Fox & Friends” co-host Ainsley Earhardt, the former first lady acknowledged that her husband surviving two attempts on his life “were really miracles.”

“I ran to the TV and I [rewound] it and I watched it,” she said, referring to the first attempt in July while he spoke at a rally in Butler, PA.

The former president’s speech was being televised and the horrific scene played out live for viewers as a bullet grazed his ear and he dove below the podium. His wife had paused the live airing of the speech and returned to the television after a call alerted her to what had happened.

“I didn’t really see [it] live, but maybe, you know, three minutes, a few minutes later. But when I saw it, I, you know, it was only… Nobody really knew yet. Because when you see him on the floor, and you don’t know, you don’t know what really happened,” Mrs. Trump recounted.

Former Pennsylvania fire chief Corey Comperatore died while trying to shield his family from the bullets. Rallygoers David Dutch and James Copenhaven suffered injuries from the shots fired by Thomas Crooks, 20, who was shot and killed by a counter-sniper.

The former first lady demanded more answers about the attempt on her husband’s life in a Sept. 10 video she posted to X.

“I can’t help but wonder, why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech?” she asked. “There is definitely more to the story, and we need to uncover the truth.”

She also recounted how she learned of the second assassination attempt on the former president, telling Earhardt she was in New York at the time and “saw it on the television too.”

The Republican presidential nominee was golfing earlier this month at the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida when a Secret Service agent spotted a gun poking out of a tree line around the course. The suspect, Ryan Routh, was arrested a short time later and, thankfully, had not managed to fire any shots.

Melania Trump recounted that she had called her chief of staff after learning about the incident on television.

“He was okay because Secret Service were great,” she told the Fox News host.

“The guys that were there, the team, they were fantastic. And I think both of the events, they were really miracles,” she expressed. “If you think both of the events, they were really miracles. If you really think about it, July 13th was a miracle…..he could not be with us.”
