The Israeli Defense Forces said the Israeli military stuck the central headquarters of Hezbollah in Beirut, Lebanon on Friday.

The target of the strike reportedly was Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

It is unclear at this time if Nasrallah was killed in the strike.

According to an IDF spokesperson cited in a Fox News report, Hezbollah built the headquarters under residential buildings to use the Lebanese people “as human shields.”

The spokesperson said Hezbollah has been attacking Israel with rockets, missiles and drones. Israel is currently opposed to a ceasefire in Lebanon and pledged to continue fighting Hezbollah militants.

“Israel is doing what every sovereign state in the world would do if they had a terror organization that seeks their destruction on their border, taking the necessary action to protect our people so that Israeli families can leave their homes safely and securely,” h he said.
