GOP North Carolina Lieutenant Gov. Mark Robinson on Thursday announced that he hired a lawyer to “hold CNN accountable” for the hit piece they wrote about him.

“Jesse Binnall and his team have launched a full-scale investigation into the allegations leveled against me by CNN. I have offered them complete cooperation and full transparency as they do so,” Robinson wrote on the social media platform, X.

Binnall has previously represented former President Donald Trump.

“I fully expect the facts are going to come to light quickly, and I intend to utilize every available means to hold CNN accountable for what they have done,” Robinson’s post continued.

CNN reported that Robinson made controversial online comments online years ago.

Robinson has denied that he made comments outlined in the CNN report, such as allegedly describing himself as a “black NAZI.”

“Anything other than a vote for the FULL REPUBLICAN TICKET is a vote for Josh Stein and his record of bloodshed, lawlessness and failure. The choice is obvious, folks,” Robinson’s post concluded.

Robinson is running for governor of North Carolina.
