The indictment remained sealed on Wednesday night, and it was unclear what charge or charges Mr. Adams will face. But when they are made public, he will become the first New York City mayor to be criminally charged while in office.

One local news source reported that an arrest could come as soon as Thursday.

As RedState has been reporting, Adams has been under scrutiny after several members of his administration had their homes raided as part of the federal investigation, resulting in a slew of resignations.

Earlier Wednesday, our own Bob Hoge reported that Adams was on the hot seat with his own party, with the likes of AOC calling for his resignation.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams could fairly say, “Well she started it!” He’d be right because Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the leftist Democrat congressman from the Bronx, took to social media Wednesday to unceremoniously call on the embattled mayor to resign due to the myriad investigations into him and members of his administration.

The congresswoman included a link to a New York Times article where she said the same thing. That article also detailed the turmoil the Adams administration is going through as the feds investigate all sorts of potential corruption.

Adam seemed defiant, but the indictment could change everything.

So far, representatives of the mayor have opted not to comment on the situation. Adams is up for reelection in 2025.

This is a developing story.
