Country legend Loretta Lynn shared a heartfelt message about the passing of Naomi Judd on Twitter this evening.

“I’m just heartbroken over the loss of @TheNaomiJudd. My fellow Kentucky girl, my friend, and an amazing singer. There are no words. Please pray for Wynonna, Ashley, Larry, and grandchildren. Heartbroken. Sending all my love.”

Naomi’s daughters Wynonna and Ashley shared about the passing of their mother saying, “Today, we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness. We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.”

The released statement has led many to speculate that Naomi took her own life. This has not been addressed or confirmed by the family at this time.

Naomi and Wynnona were set to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame Sunday as members of the group ‘The Judds’. They were also set to start a touring this fall, something they had taken a break from doing for about a decade.

Country Music HOF shared that they will carry on with the induction of The Judds on Sunday.

“We are shocked and saddened by the death of Naomi Judd, who enters the Country Music Hall of Fame tomorrow as a member of the @juddsofficial. Her family has asked that we continue with the Judds’ Hall of Fame induction Sunday. We will do so, with heavy hearts.”

The Judds recently performed at the Country Music Awards in April of this year. It had been quite some time since Naomi had performed. CMT shared on Twitter, “We’re heartbroken to learn about the passing of the legendary Naomi Judd & honored to have shared many unforgettable moments & performances together. Our hearts go out to her husband Larry, daughters Wynonna & Ashley, & legions of fans around the world during this difficult time.” They included a video of the pair’s final performance from the CMAs.
