A new online poll shows a significant number of CNN and MSNBC viewers are promising to leave Twitter in the wake of its purchase by Tesla billionaire Elon Musk. While many conservatives are celebrating the move, the left —not so much.

16.2% of CNN viewers and 28.4% of MSNBC viewers say they will leave the Twitter because of Musk; 27.7% and 42.2% of viewers said they would leave if former President Donald Trump returns to the platform.

The survey was conducted April 26, 2022 among 1,953 Twitter users in the U.S.

Following his purchase of the social media platform, Musk said he hopes his critics stick around:

“I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means.”
